Supporting Illawarra Museum Wollongong

The Society needs your help to preserve the heritage of the Wollongong region.  Much of our activity is related to the Illawarra Museum Wollongong and its programmes.  The Museum collection has been developed over the past 50 years through the generosity of many individuals and organisations.  Donations to the Museum Fund are mostly tax-deductible.

There are two ways you can give to the Illawarra Museum Wollongong:
1. Donate money - your donation will allow us to explore, collect and manage Illawarra heritage.
2. Make a bequest - leave a lasting legacy with a gift in your will to the Illawarra Historical Society Inc to support general activities or to the Illawarra Museum Fund to enable the continuation of museum activities.

How your donations help
The Illawarra Historical Society is a volunteer organisation that receives no regular government funding.  We are grateful to receive some in-kind assistance from the City of Wollongong but ongoing activities are funded solely from membership fees, donations, entry charges and bequest income.  We have been fortunate to secure small government grants for specific projects but we need additional revenue to develop and maintain our activities especially the Museum collection.

How to make a financial donation
You can make a donation of any amount. We value your privacy - please be assured that personal information remains confidential. All donations of $2.00 or more to the Museum Fund are tax-deductible.

Donations may be left at the Museum

How you can make a bequest

A bequest by Mrs Frances Isobella Crockett has had lasting benefit to the Museum.  Through Mrs Crockett’s generosity we have been able to preserve collection items that would otherwise have deteriorated.

If you would like to inquire about making a bequest, please contact the Secretary or the President :
